A Message from Mr Captain
Longley Park Golf Club
As you will probably know the Government is due to carry out its review next week on the Coronavirus lockdown, whether it is to continue and for how much longer (I think it will continue). I will update you with what is going on at Longley Park.
Matthew and Adam (greens staff) will be working normally and getting paid as usual, keeping the course in good condition for when we start to play golf again. It’s important that Matthew and Adam keep working and for the time being they will be paid out of the club finances. The committee will review this from time to time and I will keep you informed.
Karen, our stewardess and Jane, our cleaner will be going onto the Government Furloughed Scheme later this month.
The club is also looking into the Government and Kirklees rate and rent relief and we will keep you informed as to the results of that. The committee will continue to work for the best interest of the club and will keep a close eye on the finances.
Times are hard but we will get through this together. It is important that we (all the members) stick together through these unforeseen difficult times and pull the club through.
I hope you are all keeping well. As for me, I am ‘self isolating’ being on my back nine. My food is being delivered by family and local shops.
Stay safe, see you on the other side and thank you for your support and patience.
Remo ( Club Captain )
